Project:522 Cultural landscape
Award:Peterson Prize Third Place
These drawings were constructed for a course titled 'Drawing on The Cultural Landscape' in a team of three, over one semester. The team included: Megan Haughey, Joe Morgan, and myself. We focused on researching, documenting and drafting a set of as-built drawings aimed to the specifications of HABS (Historic American Building Survey) of the National Park Service.
The course was aimed at contributing to the permanent HABS collection at the Library of Congress by documenting a building that was unrecorded in the collection. At the end of the semester, drawings were turned into the National Park Service and entered into the national Peterson Prize Competition.
'The prize honors Charles E. Peterson, FAIA, founder of the HABS program, and is intended to increase awareness, knowledge, and appreciation of historic buildings throughout the United States while adding to the permanent HABS collection of measured drawings at the Library of Congress.'
