SCRAMBLER
A.K.A.: the stunt bike.
An '85 xr600 reimagined as a scrambler that strikes perfect balance between off-road capability and urban practicality.
This build was crafted with a minimalist approach, ensuring street legality while staying true to its dirt worthy roots.
Whether it's a rip to work or a casual weekend ride, the scrambler thrives on unpaved shortcuts and will ensure you arrive at your destination with a smile.
Credit goes to Dusty Miller for bringing the bike's initial vision to life.
He enhanced the bike with a custom seat hoop, a recycled XL175 gas tank, a chopped FMF muffler, and a fresh pair of Continental Twinduro tires.
To top it off, he commissioned a custom leather seat from
Black Sheep Custom Leather.
After acquiring the bike from Dusty, I committed to an extensive engine rebuild to repair a cracked crankcase and a blown head gasket.
Upon reassembly, I installed a new Wiseco piston and a fresh set of valves to enhance performance.
Additionally, I had the frame powder-coated.
To upgrade the LED dual headlight, I installed a Trail Tech rectifier/regulator to convert the AC current and added a capacitor for power stabilization.
A PWM was wired in to enable high beam/low beam functionality, and the old stator was replaced with a high-output model from Ricky Stator.
Designed for on-road commutes and off-road adventures, this bike embodies mischief in a sleek, functional package.
It isn’t meant to sit in a showroom but thrives in the dirt, on muddy trails and unexpected detours.
It invites riders to embrace their wild side, proving it’s made for excitement, not just admiration.
